We are excited to share the third episode of Vital Voices Season 3, a podcast of the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation.
This episode’s transcript is available here.
On today’s episode, we feature Brenessa Lindeman, MD, MEHP, Associate Professor of Surgery and Medical Education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine. Dr. Lindeman is also the Assistant Dean for Graduate Medical Education, as well as Section Chief and Fellowship Director for Endocrine Surgery. In February of this year, Dr. Lindeman was selected to serve as president-elect for the Association for Academic Surgery.
We discuss how, in her Macy Faculty Scholars project, Dr. Lindeman will use entrustable professional activities—or EPAs—to define gaps in general surgery training. Dr. Lindeman’s track record of leadership ideally positions her to carry out this work, as she was on the AAMC’s drafting panel for core EPAs upon entering residency and she chaired the panel on endocrine surgery EPAs.
As always, we hope that you will share the podcast with your social media networks. Look for episode four next week, and if you are interested in hearing more about the Macy Faculty Scholars Program, we encourage you to check out our website and subscribe to Vital Voices wherever you get your podcasts.
