Last week in Washington, D.C., Dr. George Thibault, president of the Macy Foundation, joined Health Affairs and Academic Medicine for a health policy briefing to discuss how to create the optimal health care workforce for the 21st century. Dr. Thibault talked about the importance and urgency for health professions education reform, and outlined the six reforms that are needed to better prepare health professionals for practice in a changing health care system. His presentation complemented recent commentaries in Health Affairs and Academic Medicine.
