News and Commentary Commentary: Column Highlights Need for Fresh Ideas on GME

The New England Journal of Medicine recently featured a column titled “Transforming Graduate Medical Education to Improve Health Care Value” by Glenn Hackbarth and Cristina Boccuti. The authors highlight the need for new perspectives on graduate medical education (GME) and we support their call for a fresh look at GME.

This is the time to rethink how we have financed GME in the past, and how we could redesign GME content so that we can better meet society’s needs into the future.
