Today, the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation released a report to help guide efforts to improve graduate medical education (GME) programs. The report spotlights innovations and promising new approaches to the content and financing of GME from across the country.

The report captures highlights from the Macy Regional Conferences on Innovations in GME, a six-region conference series held between February and May 2016 that engaged nearly 800 medical leaders, health professions educators and residents. Macy partnered with six leading academic institutions to co-host each event.
On November 28, series co-hosts Suzanne Allen, MD, MPH, vice dean for academic, rural and regional affairs at University of Washington School of Medicine; Donald Brady, MD, senior associate dean for GME and continuing professional development, Vanderbilt University Medical Center; Debra Weinstein, MD, vice president for graduate medical education, Partners HealthCare System; along with George Thibault, president of the Macy Foundation, will host a web conference from 1-2 PM ET to discuss the pioneering GME innovations happening on-the-ground in regions throughout the country and the opportunities for adoption and scale.
