Rohan Jotwani, MD, MBA, is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Anesthesiology and pain medicine specialist at Weill Cornell Medicine. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Medical Extended Reality, the endowed Nanette Laitman Education Scholar at Weill Cornell Medical College, and Co-Director of the XRAIL Lab within the Department of Anesthesiology. His research spans novel pain management strategies, extended reality-based procedural training, and the use of AI-driven virtual avatars to teach ethics, communication, and professional identity formation.

As a Macy Faculty Scholar, Dr. Jotwani proposes a systematic evaluation of CALEB (Conversational Agent Learning Ethics Bot), an immersive platform designed to help learners practice ethical decision-making through unscripted, realistic clinical conversations. Building on technology already developed in his lab, this work leverages the resources of the Macy Foundation to scale and prepare future trainees globally for complex, ethically grounded care.

Dr. Jotwani will be mentored by June Chan, MBBS, Assistant Dean of Clinical Curriculum at Weill Cornell Medicine.
