Dimitri Papanagnou is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine (EM) at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He serves as Associate Dean for Faculty Development and Vice Chair for Education in the Department of EM. In the medical school, Dr. Papanagnou oversees the Health Systems Science Thread Curriculum and the Scholarly Inquiry Track in Medical Education. He is in the final stage of completing a doctorate (EdD) in adult learning and leadership at Teachers College, Columbia University.
As a Macy Faculty Scholar, Dr. Papanagnou will develop and evaluate a curriculum in uncertainty in clinical practice. The vertically-aligned, interprofessional curriculum will leverage action learning to support students as they work through the productive struggle and cognitive dissonance encountered in the clinical learning environment.
