Amanda Kirkpatrick

PhD, RN Creighton University College of Nursing

Amanda J. Kirkpatrick is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Creighton University College of Nursing (CUCON). She is Chair of CUCON’s Undergraduate Curriculum and Assessment Committee, President of the Iota Tau Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International, and a Jonas Nurse Leader Scholar (2016–2018, Villanova University). Dr. Kirkpatrick has received recognition for excellence in teaching, innovation, and research in the areas of interprofessional education, simulation, and palliative care. She aspires to be a national leader in health science education by promoting interprofessional competence development and relationship-based caring among students and clinicians through Virtual Interprofessional Simulations (VISion). 

As a Macy Faculty Scholar, Dr. Kirkpatrick plans to evaluate and disseminate VISion as a new clinical model, providing widespread access to established and standardized VISion guidelines, validated and diversified VISion scenarios, and expanded interprofessional palliative care course enrollment.

Gail M. Jensen, PhD, PT, FAPTA, FNAP, Dean of the Graduate School and College of Professional Studies and Vice Provost for Learning and Assessment at Creighton University, serves as Dr. Kirkpatrick's mentor.
