Rachel Marie Salas

MD, MEdHP, FAAN Johns Hopkins School of Medicine

Rachel Salas is an Associate Professor in Neurology at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, with a joint appointment at the School of Nursing. She is the Director of the Neurology Clerkship and the Director for Interprofessional Education and Collaborative Practice (IPCP) for the School of Medicine, and she is a faculty advisor for the Master of Education in the Health Professions program at Johns Hopkins School of Education. Dr. Salas is Chair of the American Academy of Neurology Consortium of Clerkship Directors and a Co-Director for Interprofessional Teaming for the High Value Practice Academic Alliance. 

As a Macy Faculty Scholar, Dr. Salas will create and implement The Interprofessional Exemplar Program: A Certificate Program to Recognize, Develop, and Nurture Faculty as IPCP Role Models. The program aims to foster the development of skills needed to be a successful IPCP role model, cultivate an educational environment that facilitates excitement and innovation around IPCP and professional identity, and develop an educational environment that promotes recognition and encourages the joy of medicine for IPCP teaching faculty across disciplines.

Antoinette S. Ungaretti, PhD, Director of the Master of Education in the Health Professions program at the Johns Hopkins School of Education, serves as Dr. Salas's mentor.
