Our Initiatives & Programs
We advance our priorities through our primary activities: grantmaking, a career development program for promising early-career faculty in medicine and nursing, and conferences and convenings.
Grants to Develop Exemplary Learning Environments
Clinical learning environments must inspire and uphold the highest standards of the health professions to ensure optimal learning for trainees and excellent care for patients. One of the ways we support the development of exemplary learning environments is through our grantmaking, which typically begins when we issue a request for applications (RFA). Our RFAs invite applications from clinical faculty—often in collaboration with learners and other partners—at eligible institutions to implement educational innovations aligned with one or more of our three priorities.
The Macy Faculty Scholars Program
The Macy Faculty Scholars Program is a career development program that supports early career faculty who show great promise as leaders in medical and nursing education. Through the program, we aim to invest in both project and person with the goal of cultivating a network of national leaders who are well positioned to guide next generation of health professionals.
Macy Conferences
We regularly convene conferences to advance national conversations around key issues in health professions education and clinical learning environments. Through these intensive, invitation-only working meetings, we explore opportunities to better prepare the next generation of health professionals and share information that both guides our work and the work of conferees and their colleagues and networks.
