The Road Traveled for New Medical Schools

Twenty-one new medical schools have enrolled students since 2006, when the AAMC called for an increase in U.S. medical school enrollment. Five potential schools are likely to enroll students during the next two years.

Michael Whitcomb, MD has been tracking their progress. In his latest report, Whitcomb looks at the six schools that have opened most recently, and examines the impact that the new medical schools are having on their local communities. Whitcomb also sheds light on the institutions that are currently working to establish new medical schools in the coming years
