We are pleased to share with you our latest issue brief on delivering interprofessional education and teaching teamwork, one of five areas where we focus our grantmaking.
As you know, we have strong evidence today that health care delivered by well-functioning teams leads to better outcomes. Interprofessional education (IPE)—in which students from medicine, nursing, pharmacy, social work, public health, and other healthcare disciplines learn about, from, and with each other in order to work together in teams—is gaining an influential foothold in health professions schools across the nation.
This brief outlines how to overcome some of the emerging challenges health professions schools face in providing and expanding IPE, and shares promising models to learn from.
