We are pleased to introduce a new space for health professionals and educators to connect and collaborate with others in the field. We invite you to join the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation group on LinkedIn, the professional social network, to discuss health professions education issues, share new resources, and exchange ideas, insights and lessons learned.
From the stellar content and discussion, high-caliber speakers and impressive turnout, the “Collaborating Across Borders” conference was testament to the fact that IPE has finally come of age. After a 40 year effort to launch IPE, the meeting showed that health professionals and educators have moved beyond talking about IPE to creating a blueprint and beginning to implement this crucial educational strategy.
Eighty-five prospective applicants joined the January 26, 2012 webinar about the Faculty Scholars program. Content included an overview of the program, the application process, and a question and answer session. A recording is provided for those who could not join.
In the fall I had the opportunity to visit two of our grantees and see firsthand the work they are doing to advance interprofessional education (IPE). Their efforts reflect the tremendous progress Macy grantees are making in translating IPE from theory into practice. Interprofessional education has been discussed for more than 40 years but now, in these schools, it is becoming real.
